High-risk HPV
Using Molecular Technique, this panel tests for viral, bacterial and parasitic pathogens causing GI infections.
HPV, the human papillomavirus, is a sexually transmitted infection (STI). There are many types of HPV, some of which cause no symptoms. High-risk HPV infections may result in changes to the cells of the cervix, and these changes can, over time, lead to cervical cancer.
Our high-risk HPV tests, using molecular method testing, are commonly performed for women whose Pap test has shown abnormal cervical cells, to check for HPV in women over 30, or as a follow up for women who have completed treatment for a high-risk HPV infection.
